Article 117 of EU MDR was once again in focus with the recently published guidance from Team-NB Position Paper on Documentation Requirements of Article 117 and news of the first approval from NB (BSI).

Under the MDR, originally there was no transition period for class I devices. The key issue in the second corrigendum is the introduction of a transitional period for class I devices that are classified higher under the MDR than they were under the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) and therefore require the involvement of a notified body.

This course will give a general guideline on how to approach the application of the new MDR and highlight key differences between MDR and MDD.
